woooo hooo prices even lower!

Canadian Prices Going Lower!

Stampin' Up! is happy to announce that the prices in the Spring-Summer Collection 2008 are going down! You may have noticed that the prices in your new catalogue are already lower, but with further evaluation of current circumstances, we have decided that the pricing warrants a further reduction of 7 percent! We are excited about this further development and hope you will be, too! So for example on a stamp set that is $39.95 in the new catalog you'll save an additional $2.80!! This is great and it all add's up!

Another change is that to reach hostess level is has always been $225 but it will now be reduced to $200! At the $200 level you'll receive $20 free merchandice and a free level 1 set!

I love news like this!

Merry Christmas!

exciting news!!!!

Well I am so excited to finally share why the posts havn't been too frequent and why I post that I'm tired! Here is a picture of our newest addition that will be making an appearance this June!!!! I've had many ultrasounds over the years but this was my first 3D!!! I'm in awe at how clear it is and how I can see the babe's face! The white part is the cheek and its eye's are closed and its looking down somewhat...can you make it out?
Anyway our girls are super excited and I'm hoping to get over the nausea soon :) Wow - 4 children!!!! What a blessing :)
Cat's out of the bag LOL,

teacher gifts and preschool gifts

Good Evening!
Yippeeee I just finished making the teacher gifts!
The first picture is of the quick pouches I made for Kylie to take to preschool for each child. In each pouch are some dollar store goodies and candy canes. Each pouch uses a 12x12 piece of c/s as I wanted them to be big enough to hold things with them not falling out. I used Dashing paper for the boys and Holiday Harmony for the girls as I didn't have enough of one to do all of them!
Here is a pic of the cute tins I found at the Dollar Giant last week. They are quite shiny so I couldn't use the flash. Its also hard to make out but I used Dazzling Diamonds on the tree and star. Inside each tin is a gift certificate for Tim Hortons and some Lindt chocolate. I made 7 of these :)
Soooo now just to do some Christmas cards....
I'll save those for another day to work on as i'm beat!
Take care,

9 more days!

Good Morning!

I'm still sharing the shoebox swap cards we did at my Christmas party. This beautiful card was created by Wendy. I really like how we used the snowflake stamp with versamark and made a subtle background on the green cardstock.

I'm happy to say I finally was able to finish the little treat holders for Kylie's preschool last night. One project done. Also made my first altered tin for the teachers on my list. Now I just have to make 5 more which should be fun since I've made one already...

Chris finished his last of his graveyards today! I'll be glad to get back to normal as each day I've taken the girls out after school so he could sleep longer.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I might brave some Christmas shopping today....not sure! Maybe just stay home and tackle my Christmas cards :)

gift card holder

Good evening!

Here is a gift card holder that Carrie brought as her shoebox swap.

Its matchbook style and I love it! I'll be case'ing it for my teacher gifts this year i'm thinking! I also found the cutest red paint cans at the Dollar Giant this week so that will be my packaging for the teachers. Just decorate the outside and add some ribbon. Now to just get to these projects....

I made a small dent in my Christmas cards today. Time went so fast!

Can anyone tell me how to delete a comment someone has left...I just tried and can't find out where to do that?

Thanks,

Retired Accessory List and a fab card

Happy Monday!

Well the retired accessory list came out today! To take a look at it click here. If you havn't had a chance to check out the retired stamp set list here is the link to the list.

Here is a beautiful card that Sarah made for our shoebox swap. I love how we used the Vanilla craft pad over the Elegant Eggplant snowflakes...it really makes them 'pop'!

So is everyone running around like crazy getting ready for Christmas? I'm always sad by how so many people look so unhappy when i'm out and about shopping. That's not what this holiday is about and i'm sure Jesus didn't intend for it to get so off track. I'm really trying to balance everything better this year....i'll have to let you know how I do. That's my goal this year.

I'll post more pic's this week too. Nice to have some projects to post :)

If you're on my customer list I sent out a newsletter today with my retirement specials. Let me know if you didn't receive yours!

Have a great day,

Amy's card

Good Morning,

Before I get a start on my day I thought i'd share Amy's lovely masculin Valentine's Day card from our shoebox swap tuesday night.
I loved how she used dry embossing - it really pop's on the paper!

I getting together with a friend tonight to hopefully get crackin' on my Christmas cards! My older 2 girls are also having friends sleep over so hopefully they won't be too hyper and i'll get some down time tonight!

Have a great Friday,

my project

Hello there

I had a great time at our team meeting tuesday night. Here is my contribution to the shoebox swap. I was intrigued to try using my SU markers to watercolour. I used this link
Here is the link:http://paperpleasing.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/10/no-copics-no-pr.html as she gives a great tutorial. I used Cameo Coral and Ruby Red for the flower, and my aquapainter.
I have photo's of all the other ladies shoebox swap projects and i'll upload those in the next few days as well.

I'm back......

Hi there!

Thanks for sticking around and coming back to my not so active blog these days!

Can it already be 2 weeks since the last post???? I won't bore you with the details but its been a busy one around here.
Happy to say I bought batteries today so was able to upload some photo's in my camera. Here are 2 projects I did with my clubs in November. I used the Jumbo eyelets which I love!

The first project is a coaster ornament.

The second project is a photo album where you use SU's clear medium envelopes to create the pages. This was one of those 'wow' projects that caught my eye on the Panama cruise and one I could wait to try out on my own! I made one for Chris for Father's Day and this one for Christmas I'm going to put all the photo's I get from family and friends that you don't know what to do with once the holidays are over.....

I'm just home from a baking exchange. I came home with a variety of 72 yummy items! This is the 3rd year I've participated and I love it as I get an assortment of baking and I only have to make a large amount of one thing! Perfect timing as I have my team Christmas party tomorrow night! We're doing a shoebox swap so I"ll have some new creations to share wednesday!

We had a whopper of a snow storm this weekend. Sad to say its all gone due to a 'Pineapple express' system that rolled thru today. Its such a mild wind and, the rain! I thought we'd have to build an ark!!! Our power was also off for 9 hours last night during the wee hours until 11am this morning. I was getting quite stressed as I still had my baking for tonight to do! Thankfully it came back on, or else I was going to head to parents house 1/2 hr away with all my ingredients!!!

OK, enough ramblings....thanks for stopping by!

Club projects

Hi there!

Well my club ladies just left. I thought I'd share what they made tonight. This is my club that has run for 3 years so these ladies are pro's. The card is a 'Z' fold card. The pointsetta was made using the 2 tag sized punches. The ornaments were made using the circle scallop punches.

It was a fun, relaxing night. Hard to believe 9 months have passed so quickly! Time flies when you're having fun :)

another week fly's by!

Hi there!
I can't believe its been another week since I last posted! Where does the time fly! Sorry for the MIA....I've had limited time to stamp and when I do stamp its for clubs and classes and I still have those yet to come so can't share them yet....will do though soon!
My friend, and downline Lynn came over friday night so I could help her with some last minute craft show items. She made the cute little magnets in a tin. I stamped the bookmarks using the jumbo paperclips. Hard to make out but I used my ziggy gold marker to stitch around the edges of the 5 petal flower. I made some mini tags as well.....
I also took a pic of the 2 beautiful Christmas cards she brought over to show me. Aren't they lovely!
Anyway here's hoping that I"ll get blogging more often again! Thanks for stopping by!

altered frame

Hi again,

I just wanted to share one of the projects we made at my friend and downline's, Sarah's class I went to last week. It is an altered frame. We used the designer wrapping paper that is available in the Holiday Mini.
I also loved that we used a jumbo eyelet with a rhinestone brad in the middle. Of course, the satin chocolate ribbon is beautiful too! It was such a FUN class, and I enjoyed being a 'customer' and just stamping the night away. Everything was already cut, project was there to copy and it was so relaxing. Will be doing this again for sure!

In Rememberance,

Today in Canada we call this day, Rememberance Day. I believe in the States its called Veterans Day?
Anyway here is a poem that is always recited today, and one that sums it all up.

In Flanders fields...
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scare heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I am thankful for all those men and woman that fought for our freedom. My Great Grandfather died during WW1, and both my grandfathers fought during WW2. My Grandmother who lived in England at the time worked for the Ministry of Transportation and often worked where Winston Churchill would come in. He would always say 'hello deary' to my Grandmother, she said. I'm sad that my Grandparents have all passed away as this day was such a special day to thank them. I pray we never forget.....

Halloween Night

Hello!
Well we just got our girls to bed after a very fun night for them! They had such a good time going around our neighbourhood. I love how I can visit with all the families that come by. Chris took the girls out this year and I stayed home with Bailey and handed out candy and chips.
Thankfully the rain held off and it was a cool, crisp evening. The girl had many layers on and they were warm. The photo of Mikayla and Megan is just before school this morning so they didn't have to dress warm then..... For Sharpay Megan copied a picture of her from a music cd she owns....same colours on the outfit.
Anyway I hope you all had a safe and fun evening. Don't forget to brush your teeth :)

Pumpkin Patch

Hello!

It dawned on me that I hadn't shared a few pic's of us at the Pumpkin Patch that we took last week. It was such a beautiful, fall day. I love the pic of Mikayla and Megan as their faces are priceless! You can just feel the weight of that pumpkin...can't you? Its hard to make out but Kylie is in a wagon pulled by Chris in the other photo....
Our pumpkins are all carved and ready to go for tomorrow. I toasted the pumpkin seeds today finally and they turned out yummy.

Leave me a note to let me know what your kids are dressing up as. Its fun to see!
Mikayla is Laura Ingles (Little House on the Prairie)
Megan is Sharpay from High School Musical
Kylie is a princess

Polished Stone

Good Morning!

Well we had our first frost this morning. It was so beautiful and shimmery! Gotta find our mittens and hats though as it was nippy!

Here's a card that we made at my clubs in October showcasing the Polished Stone technique.

Colours used were bashful blue and almost amythyst. The ladies also made a swatch for their technique ring, a 2.4.6.8 box for Halloween and we made the stars from the Fall/Winter Collection on pg 197.

I hope you have a wonderful day,

Name Game

Hi there, another post in one day! Amazing, eh?

I was tagged by Julie to play The NAME GAME. The name of the game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life, for each letter of your middle name. If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your middle name and game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog.

Wouldn't you know it I have one of the longest middle names possible :)

E - Energetic - My days are jam packed with activies related to being a wife, mom, PAC member and SU demo.

L - Love - I'm so thankful to still be in love with my husband. We just had our 15th wedding anniversary this past August.

I - Ice cream - LOVE IT! Especially from Birchwood Dairy here in my hometown.

Z - My poor brain can't think of anything for this letter so I say 'pass'

A - Adoption - I am so thankful for 2 of my girls who joined our family thru adoption, plus my hubby is also adopted so it is a big part of our life.

B - Birthchild - I was amazed and thrilled to be able to have a birthchild 4 years ago. Our 3rd miracle joined our family!

E - Empathy - I love being with woman and feel such empathy for many of them.

T - too long is my middle name :) This is going on forever!

H - Home - I am grateful that I am able to be home during the day with my girls and then work at night with my SU business.

PHEW, I"m done. My name is so long I think I'm going to just ask you to fill this out and let me know you've done it so I can come read your blog and your answers! I look forward to seeing it! Please play!

Kerry

B -

thank you gift

Good Morning!
One of my clubs just ended their 2nd year with me and as a small thank you I made each gal one of these Sour Cream containers filled with some embellishments and chocolate! They are such a fun group of ladies and I"m glad to hear that for some of them it works to start up again in January!
I can't quite post the other projects yet as we have to do them in my other clubs this month. But I will, once they have all done them.
My holiday card club is tomorrow evening so I"ll post those 2 cards over the weekend. The 2 stamp sets we're using are Festive Favourites and Peaceful Wishes.
Anyway off to start my day. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello, and Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends here in Canada!
I was happy as this happened to be Chris's one weekend off a month so it worked out wonderfully! We went and visited Chris's mom on Saturday and then yesterday had turkey dinner at my parents. My sister, her husband and my newphew where there as well as my cousin Ruth and her 2 sisters who were visiting from the UK and Ireland. It was so neat to have all three of them together and then it was special for my girls as they thought it was neat that their Auntie Ruth was one of 3 girls just like them.
Today my parents had the girls for awhile so I spent some quality time stamping and doing load after load of laundry. Anyone else there with me today?
Anyway I'll have a few things to post once my club is over tomorrow evening.
Until then,
Hope you had a fabulous weekend,
and Happy Stampin'

Wonders with the Round tab punch

Good Evening!
I was blog surfing earlier today and I came accross a tutorial that Roxy posted where she used the Round Tab Punch in a very COOL way! I had to try it and so tonight after the girls were in bed I got to it! (Chris is at a BC Lions football game with my dad).

To see the tutorial click here.

I have had 2 friends that have had baby girls recently so hence the baby girl card and then the other card I wanted to use a Rhinestone brad :)

I think I'll do with this my upcoming clubs in October as its so fun!

Happy Stampin, thanks for stopping by!

pretties in glitter

Hello!

I saw this post on Patty's blog where one of her team members added glitter to their pretties flower. Right away I wanted to try that! So I made a quick 3x3 using the textured pomegranite c/s.

For this look you just smoosh the flower over the versamark pad and then apply Irridescent Ice EP. Heat and say 'ohhhhh' I sponged a bit of pomegranite on the edges
Looks better IRL.

I have 2 brides coming over this evening to plan their wedding invitations so looking forward to tonight!
Seems like ages ago I was looking at wedding invites. (16 years ago is along time I guess)

friendship

Hello!
Well we had a wonderful mini holiday to Seattle last night! With the Canadian dollar at par the shopping was great! I find there is just so much more selection in the U.S.
Mikayla (aka beanpole) was in desperate need of some new pants, as her's were all 'floods' and we did find some great ones at Target for her. We all came home with a little something....I found some fun things at Michaels and will be playing with the items soon, I hope.
One item is I finally found some great little tins, so I will be offering a future class of scrapbook in a tin class. Stay tuned, and let me know if you'd be interested in a class like this.
OK, onto the 2 cards.
The 'thank you' card is from my friend, Lori, who sadly moved to Calgary in August. (issue a sad face here). I miss her zest for life, and her warm smile each day at school. She was also a very contagious Stampin' nut and it rubbed off on all those that met her! Thanks for this card Lori!
The 2nd card is from a close friend. We're sharing life's journey together and it's always never dull, right Rosella :)
Thanks for this beautiful card, made with the retired 'In Full Bloom'.
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. I"m tidying my stampin' area and my hubby is watching the Huskies game on the tube.

Holiday Card Club

Good Morning!

Well before we tackle the garage I thought I'd post the 2 card samples we made at the September Holiday Card Club. Each lady made 5 of each design to get a headstart on her Christmas cards this year.
The card using 'Lovely as a Tree' was cased from Caroline's blog. As soon as I saw that card I knew it was a favourite and totally the look I love! Thanks Caroline! We stamped it on Confetti White c/s and mounted it on River Rock c/s. I hope you can make out the garland of Dazzling Diamonds on the bold tree. I love sparkle!
The wreath card uses the snowflake from 'The Snowflake Spot'. I saw this idea on SCS and loved it. I used the tiny circle stamp from the 'Three for You' tin and we stamped it in Pomegranite and then applied Crystal Effects over it to make the berries. The ladies all brought a cookie sheet with them so they could take home these wreath cards without them smudging as the Crystal Effects takes a bit to dry.
Have a great day!

2-5-7-10 box

Hello!
Here is one of the projects we made at my club last night. It is called a 2-5-7-10 box. (due to the fact that those are the measurements for the scoring). You can find the instructions here. My version uses Tempting turqouise, choc chip and groovy guava. We wheeled the background paper with the jumbo wheel - Whimsy. A rhinestone brad is in the middle.
My husband is on holidays this week so its been nice to have him around more. We have the big job of tackling the garage tomorrow. We need to 'Clean Sweep!'.
Hope you're having a great week!

journal

Hello!
Well I"m just about to run Kylie to preschool. (not literally LOL), then I'm off to meet with my mentor, Edna. I havn't seen her all summer so I"m super excited to visit with her today. Plus, with Kylie at Preschool now, we'll be able to visit just the 2 of us....no cartoons in the background! Here's a journal I made when my friend Michelle was here a few weeks ago. I'm going to take it with me to Edna's and use it as a prayer journal, and to record my thoughts, and bible verses that she shares with me. She is such an amazing, Godly woman!
I have my Holiday Card Class here this evening. I'll post the 2 cards this weekend that they make!
Have a great weekend,

New Swaps

Hello!

Well as I write this I am happy to say I have a quiet house. No tv, no radio, and no girls needing my attention. This is my precious 2 hour time block that i'm going to get 3x a week! So many things I want to get done, so little time :)

I just participated in a swap with my downline using sets from the new Holiday Mini or you could use a Christmas themed set from the Fall/Winter Collection. My friend Sarah has already uploaded them all on her blog, and with her permission you can view them here. (saves me having to duplicate what's already been done!)

I had my first of my 4 clubs last night. It was alot of fun! Good to catch up with everyone after taking the month of August off.

labour day and preschool!

Hello!
Here are 2 pic's from our day at the river on labour day. Chris caught a salmon (yum). The girls (+Mikayla's friend) enjoyed playing on the rocks and along the sand on the shoreline. Do you see in the one photo the pic of the momma bear and her bear cub! Very cool...but I'm glad they were on the OTHER side of the fast moving Fraser River! (if you click on the photo of the bears you can see them alot closer!)
The other pic was just taken an hour ago when I left Kylie at her first day of preschool. Can she be this old already! I actually waited an extra year longer then the other 2 when they started......I'm happy for her as she's thrilled to be going to school like her sisters...but I do miss my little girl as I enjoy our time so much together! (its only 3x week, 2 1/2 hrs so I think i'll manage LOL)
Sooooo I enter this new journey where I'll have 2 hours 3x week to myself! I hoping to get some of my Stampin' Up! prep done at this time, and that will free up my evenings after the girls go to bed. Maybe I'll see my hubby more! :)
Soooo question for you. Can you recommend a great movie to rent. What's your favourite?
Happy Stampin'
