September Christmas Card Class

Here are the cards that I offered in my September Christmas card club this month. Each lady made 5 of each. They could choose which sentiment they wanted using the Big on Christmas stamp set. All three images fit the same size piece of cardstock. I was hoping to catch the brushed gold cardstock but its hard to make out. We also used the the riding hood red tafeta ribbon - love it! Blender pens and ink was used to colour the image. The main image was raised using dimensionals as well.

The 2nd card uses glossy cardstock. One of my all time favourite and much used stamp set - Lovely as a Tree and White crayon resist technique. Had to use my Big Shot and the Top Note Die for my main image. I used the soft ivy wheel on the old olive strip. To finish it off we used Dazzling Diamonds on the main tree in a garland pattern and dots of glitter on the background trees.
I still have some room in my October classes if you're interested in joining in!

Thanks for poppin' by!

Sept Club projects

Hello, I loved this idea that I stumbled upon while blog surfing a month or so ago...Now that the SU stamp sets come die cut (yahoo) you peel the backing off the large piece of rubber that held the stamps in place and keep the paper part for masking! I realized that the backing I used for this card is from the Punches Three Level 1 hostess set but I thought it worked well with what I wanted to create. I used the new In Color - Baja Breeze and Going Grey and the awesome new Urban Garden DSP. We used the versatile set Pocket Silouettes which is on sale until the end of Sept at 15% off!!!
The other card I wanted the ladies to try out my Big Shot die cut machine so this is the card I came up with. We used the lovely Bella Rose DSP as well.
I love how the Top Note Bigz Die comes with a detailed stitched mark around the edge. Perfect to leave as is, or use as a guide to cut and then matt another one behind it, like we did here. We used an oldie but goodie - Heartfelt Thanks stamp set and a great new word set called Heard from the Heart - which is on sale until the end of Sept at 15% off! (comes to $22.91)
OH, we also used the new scallop edge punch on this card too...on the Pink Pirhouette cardstock.
OK, that's about it for now. Its been so busy since Chris went back to work. He's also taking his recertification for level 2 first aide so he's at school alot when he's not working his 55 hour week :( I miss him! I've gone from him here 24.7 to gone ALOT! OH well, this too shall pass I keep telling myself. Mid-Oct First Aide will be over - yippee.. and he'll be good for 2 more years!
My Christmas Card club classes are this week for those of you that signed up. Tues and Thursday I'm holding them. Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

staff gifts

Good Morning!

I just wanted to share the teacher/staff welcome back gifts that myself and my friend, Cheryl made. I'm the coordinator at our school for the Staff Appreciation committee. This year as soon as I saw the pillow die for the Big Shot I immediately thought of great gift opportunities!

Thanks to Cheryl's amazing help we were able to finish them yesterday and put them in each of the staff's mailbox. I had one left over so I was able to take a pic! I used Soft Sky and a retired stamp that fits the tag punches perfectly. Choc chip grosgrain 1/4 inch finishes it off. Inside are 2 Bliss milk chocolates.

I had a great club get together last night! I was so stressed as Chris had to take his First Aide class but was so thankful when Jacob fell asleep at 6:30pm - then amazingly slept till 6:30am!! Good little boy...let's hope he does that next week for my classes as well! Thankfully Chris's course only goes for 3 weeks so it will only affect my september events!

Have a great day,
Kerry

facebook

Hello!
Well Chris is working tonight so I finally got Jacob to bed and decided tonight was finally the night I got with the times and joined Facebook. Soooo if you'd like to be friends, drop me a line :)

I went to my friend Joyce's, surprise birthday party tonight. It was such a hoot as it was 80's theme! You should have seen the dress I wore...it was from 1988 or so....wore it to Phantom of the Opera with Chris....it is SO bright, shiny purply colour/sparkly and shoulder pads! I had to whip into the store to buy pop and I was soooo embarrased! I also had my hair pulled back on one side...anyone remember me doing that, that reads this LOL! Ahhhhh sweet memories when I had BIG hair LOL!

baby thank you

Good Morning!

Well I needed a few more baby gift thank you's, plus a baby card for a shower I'm going to on thursday so I just took a few minutes to make these ones up. I have a TON of bold bright brads to use as in my last Christmas class we used 3 pkgs of just the real red ones. Soooo I have so many Green Galore to use up. That's what I started with on this card and worked from there.

Also couldn't resist putting this cute picture of my younger 2 children smiling together. Its so much more quieter around here now that 2 out of 4 are in school all day. Kylie starts Kindergarden tomorrow afternoon so then we'll just have Jacob for 2 1/2 hours! Hope he naps then so I can have some time to catch up on house stuff and hopefully stamp!

Have a great day!

Greetings and Happy September!

Wow, time sure has flown these last few weeks since my last post! The older 2 girls are now in Grade 3 and 4 and Kylie has a slow start to Kindergarden so she basically starts next wednesday. Chris goes back to work this sunday after having been off since the birth of Jacob. (Paternity leave here in Canada). I'm really going to miss him, and having an extra adult and pair of hands to help out around here...on the otherhand it will be nice to get back into routine.

Here are the 2 cards that the ladies made last week at my monthly Christmas Card Club. They make 5 of each design.
The first one is a shaker card using micro beads and a hint of dazzling diamonds.

The 2nd card uses my new Big Shot which is now available for purchase! I LOVE it and esp love this exclusive die available only thru SU. Its called the Top Note Big Die. The ladies embossed the tree in white embossing powder and for the background stamped in White craft ink and embossed in Irridescent Ice embossing powder. Sponging the edges of the die, creates a soft, snowy look I think. Lastly we added dots of Red Riding Hood using a blender pen since the In Colors don't come in markers.

I've already planned my 2 cards for the September club so if you're interested in coming please let me know :) I'd love to have you join in!
