cards from my class last night

Hi there!

Here are the cards that the ladies made last night at my Easy Embellishment's class.

We used the large prima flower, with a half-back pearl. Also the 5/8'' wide chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

As I've mentioned before I love the Three for You tin in this year's Collection. Here is a 3x3 card where we used a rhinestone brad and the double stitched ribbon. The base of the card uses the textured Wasabi cardstock.

This is a great, verstaile layout for using this set - Fun and Fast Notes. Its hard to make out but there are dazzling diamonds on the cake. I also showed how you can use staples on your card as an accent.

Lastly, another 3x3 card on Sky Blue textured cardstock. One of my fav new sets in the Garden Whimsey set. I stamped the butterfly using markers so I could use 2 different colours. After punching out and adhering onto the scallop circle black flower, and mounting it all together, the last step was to use the 2 way glue pen and pour micro beads over. Its so much prettier in real life, the micro beads catch the light and really look pretty.

So there you have them! I had 9 ladies here last night and amazingly enough everyone was gone by 10pm! It went so smoothly and the ladies were such a joy to have here. So friendly, and helping one another. I love nights like that!

Soooo I"m so excited to say that I'm shortly leaving to pick up my long time friend, Michelle! She's coming to spend the weekend and flying from Toronto! We've been friends for 30 years!!!!!!! We have so many great memories and even though its been 3 years since we've seen eachother we just carry on like it was yesterday. Do you have any friends like that? Leave a comment in my comments section and I'll draw a prize next tuesday once she leaves! It can be a friend you've had for ages, or even a friend that is special to you that you've only had for a few years....
I"ve learned that a good friend is worth your weight in gold!

Have a great weekend!

Its Beach time!

Well here are a few pic's of our fun time in the sun! We were on Skaha beach, in Pentiction, B.C.
The water was quite chilly (to me) so I wasn't in all the time like the girls. I didn go in a few times though and it was VERY refreshing :)
For those that read this from out of town, if ever you get to British Columbia, make sure you visit the Okaganan! Its so beautiful there, and they grow so much fruit. Many wineries there now too.
I have my Easy Embellishments class tomorrow evening and i'm happy to say I"m all ready to go for that. I'm upload the pic's of the cards after the class so the ladies are surprised when they come. Prima's, rhinestone brads, micro beads, wide grosgrain ribbon, double-stitched ribbon, brads, dazzling diamonds, half-back pearls are some of the items we're using!

Calgary highlights

Here are some of the highlights of our time in Calgary.
Mikayla showing her finished quilt that she made! My cousin Diane that we stayed with in Cochrane took the girls to the fabric store and they chose their fav fabric. It was such a highlight watching her teach the girls how to sew and Mikayla esp really took to it! After being showed the basics she took over and did alot of it herself.
The cute baby giraffe!
Kylie having fun at Calaway Park.
My 3 cowgirls just before they rode Ryley - one of Diane's horses.
Megan sitting pretty on Riley. Reins in her hands and everything! Riding the horse was definatley a huge thrill for them!
Of course the scrapbooker in me took way too many photo's! These are just a few, just to give you a glimpe into our first week of holidays. Our 2nd week is all beach shots.

Holiday card club last night

Hello!

Well its been a busy week since coming home! Sorry for the lack of posts!

I had my first of my series of Holiday Cards classes last night. Here are the 2 cards we made last night. The ladies made 5 of each one.

If you're interested in joining our next class its Sept 14th. Thank you to akjuda from SCS for the inspiration for this card! Its hard to make out but I stamped snowflakes in versamark on the top 1/2 of the card, on the river rock.

Supplies: Sidekick Sayings (level 1), Cardstock - River Rock, Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Dashing Designer Paper. Ink - Basic Brown, Versamark. 5/8" wide red grosgrain, blender pens, dazzling diamonds. 2Way glue pen.

Here is the 2nd card they made last night. I got the inspiration from the Fall/Winter Collection. I just changed the colours and layout somewhat. We stamped the tree on glossy c/s with versamark and embossed with white EP. Sponged Artichoke ink over it. Also versamarked and embossed the star in gold and pop dotted it up. Used the Air Art Tool to add speckles in the background so its not so stark. I love the Cutter tool to rough up the edges of the glossy c/s. Lastly stamped stars in Artichoke for the background and embossed the sentiment in white. The strip of gold is the brushed gold cardstock. The stamp set is called Wondrous Gift.

When the ladies arrived last night I had Christmas music playing which was quite funny! Didn't last too long though as it just seemed too weird!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
