Great day

Greetings!

Today was one of those days where its just a great day. The sun was shining (which here in BC is quite a rare thing during the winter - usually rain). My husband took our youngest on errands for a few hours this morning so I had the house to myself!! (again rare thing). I got alot accomplished during that time which feels good. After school went to the playground as a family....great but cold...brrrrrr. Went out to dinner at our fav Mexican restaurant just over the border...El Nopal. YUMMMM. Then whipped home so I could get the last minute stuff ready for my class tonight! I had the accordian scrapbook in a tin class tonight and it was alot of fun and the gals did amazing!!!!!! Such creativity flowing around! I felt quite not needed so I made this card while they were busy.....thanks to Louise ( www.alittlehouseontheprairie.blogspot.com for the inspiration for embossing black on black cardstock! Very cool effect! I used the free set we got from Shelli for Christmas. Its called Polka Dots and Paisley and is in the new upcoming Spring Mini catalog. Soooo I black embossed the paisley on the black c/s. Also white embossed the phrase. The flower is stamped on shimmery white c/s which is hard to make out in the scan. Used Cool Carribean as well for a splash of colour!

Anyway thanks for sharing your time with me,

Happy Stampin'

Valentine's card

Happy Friday!
We had a glorious, sunny day today which is a welcome relief after the weeks of rain, snow and wind! I"m so looking forward to spring and what it brings with it....capri's, sandels, long walks and warmer days!
Here's a quick card I demo'd at some workshops this month. I used my spectrum pad for the hearts. On Board accents for the heart stamped with regal rose craft pad. Its hard to make out but the hearts are stamped on shimmery white paper - LOVE that paper! Its so pretty IRL.
Tomorrow is my husbands one saturday off a month from work so we have planned a fun family day! Hoping to go to a local mountain and go tubing! Not sure how our 3 yr old will do, I may end up in the restaurant with her and a cuppa hot chocolate but he'll have fun with our 6 and 7 yr old i'm sure!!!! It's supposed to be another sunny day - YIPPEE!
I have my stampin' club here tomorrow evening so will be back in plenty of time to set up for that!
Have a great weekend!

Hello there!
Here is the Make n' Take that my customers made last night at a workshop I did.....used blender pens and watercolour pencil crayons to colour in the 'LOVE' and also the ticket corner punch on the corners.....we actually did the punch on the pixie pink paper too last night and that looked better I thought :)
Soooo did you notice my new Watermark signature! I think its supposed to be 'see thru' so have to do some more playing around but at least its there! Thank you to Cindy for designing it for me. You can go to her blog www.imagine-dream-create.blogspot.com here.

LOVE wall hanging

Hi there, Well I had fun last night making my own Wall Hanging - inspired from my friend Rosella. I thought this would make a great Valentine decor!

I used the On Board Simon Lower for the letters and inked them with choc chip craft and regal rose craft. Once dry applied versamark and irridescent ice embossing powder to add some sparkle! Used my coasters and modgepodged the new Loves Me designer paper over them. Finally just embellished it with the phrases from Love Matters stamp set from the Winter Mini. LOVE the phrases in there. Also used grosgrain ribbon, gingham ribbon and buttons.

Soooooo I was thinking of offering this as a class in February. Is there any interest??? If you'd like more information please email me at ckschwen@shaw.ca and I'll give you more details.

I have a workshop tonight so just packing everything up....its my neighbour 2 doors down so this will be a first where I walk to a workshop!! Hope the rains holds off!

Thanks for looking,
Kerry

here piggy piggy

Hello,
I've been busy as a bee this last week - lots of family committments as well as busy stampin' in the evenings! Alot of projects I make I can't share right away as I don't want to spill the beans to the gals in my clubs or classes that are going to be making these projects.....
Here's a card that my club did last week. They could choose which Very Punny stamp they liked and I must say the little lollipop was adorable too! Alot of gals bought a brayer so they could make their Christmas cards with the reflection technique so I wanted to share how you can also use the brayer with a spectrum pad to make a cool background. We also used a strip of paper from the Loves Me designer paper collection. Super easy matting of the pig with the 2 sizes of tag punches. Lastly used my paper piecer and matt pack and poked 5 holes in the bottom right.
I've opened up another evening for the accordian scrapbook in a tin class as the first one is full. The 2nd evening is now February 9th, 7:30pm. Please rsvp asap so I can order a tin for you! I have room for 3 more gals. I'm busy working on another class idea using my chipboard coasters - thanks to my friend Rosella for a great idea when she was here the other evening stamping with me.

Post it Note holder

Hi there,
Here's my most recent make n takes that we've done at my last workshop. Inside when you open it there is a post it note pad inside. Its kept closed with velcro.
I got the idea from Joan Ness at SCS. THANK YOU Joan! I fell in love with the way she did the ribbon bow, wanted to try it myself. I used the Flirty Ribbon from the Winter Mini. We also wheeled the Hot to Dot wheel in Close to Cocoa to make the backgroud.
Thanks for takin' a peek!
I'll have some 'blog candy' coming up soon so keep watch for it!

Smoooch - Kissing technique card

Howdy there!
Hope you all had a great weekend! I had a busy SU weekend consisting of our team meeting and a Stampin' Up! workshop as well. I sure love the Sellabration stamp sets this year!
My friend came over Friday night and we had a great night gabbing and stamping. Here's a card we made using the Paisley BG stamp and the kissing technique with the Big Blossom Sellabratioin stamp set. Colours used were Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. Also used were the So Very Sellabration stamp set and Everyday Flexible Phrases stamp set. Used my daisy punch for the middle too with a silver brad. OH YAH, stamped the Aida Cloth BG stamp on the Mellow Moss cardstock as well - not sure if you can make that out. Also did stitch lines around the blossom too with my marker. If you see this card layout on SCS can you send me the link as I have misplaced the creative gal that I got this idea from.....THANK YOU!
On another note we're expecting another winter storm tonight - 10 - 15 cm again. Its our 15th storm this year! Soooo weird for coastal British Columbia! All I can say is I'm sure glad I purchased a good pair of Winter Boots this past Fall. (they have pink on them) (my old ones were still from the early 90's I believe LOL)
I'll get some of the photo's from our team Sellabration swap uploaded soon...I've already mounted them on my display board so will have to take some shots of them, no scanning this time.
Which is your favourite Sellabration stamp set? I'll have to say Big Blossom.
Take care, Happy Stampin'

Snow Time!

Hello!
Well after a wicked wind storm yesterday we have now received a HUGE dump of snow! I tell ya, this is the weirdest winter weather i've ever seen, esp living in mild British Columbia. (coastal)!!! So, again the schools were closed for the day and we made the most of it. My friend came over with her 3 girls so they all went sledding and then stayed for lunch. Here's a snowman that the girls and I made this afternoon.
Supposed to be sunny now for awhile so lets hope!

little froggie

Hello!

Well once again we had a power outage last night....only came on this morning at 8:30am or so.....was in the middle of scanning this card I made last night when it went out.

Brrr our house is cold, and we woke up to a light blanket of snow covering everything - beautiful!

Here's a card I made using the On The Spot Background stamp and also Very Punny - a Sellabration stamp set. I don't have Unfroggetable but had seen some cute samples where they use the oval punch to make a lily pad so I wanted to give that a try with my new little froggie from this set....Used On Board Accents to frame the frog and chocolate grosgrain ribbon on the card too. Old Olive and Certainly Celery were the colours I chose.

Hoping to make some more samples tonight using some other Sellabration sets I have.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Storm on again

Good Morning!

Well the rain and wind is coming on strong and I feel so nice and cozy in my home today...no plans to go out so taking it easy. Here's a very quick card I made last night as I wanted to use my new stamp set from my cousin Ruth that I got for Christmas. Hard to make out but I used shimmery white c/s on a pretty in pink pocket note. The set is called Because of You. I used one of my fav colour combo's - pretty in pink, certainly celery and apricot appeal. Nice and 'springy'! The bottom is tied with pink gingham. Did Faux stitching around the edge too.

Anyway I hope you all had a Wonderful New Year's Eve & Day! We spent both nights with friends - both nights playing games and it was alot of fun! New Year's Eve we were up until 3am!! Yikes - don't do that too often but the time just went WAY too fast!

I have 2 new classes listed on my website if you're interested.

Have a great day, Kerry
