copper medallion

Good Morning!

All is can say is 'WOW!' I got my complimentary copy of the new catalog yesterday!! It is beautiful and so nicely laid out! SU really outdid themselves this year and I'm excited to get you your new ones asap!!!! My boxes are on their way just not sure when as we can't track them! Arhhhh.

Here's a card sample I made one of the first nights I had rec'd my new preview stamp sets. I was saving it to demo at my team meeting on July 7th but then the retired accessory list came out so there went my plans of using the copper embossing powder and the wide organdy ribbon!

The technique I used was called Faux Metal and this is what I did:

Supplies to do Faux Metal:
Embossing Powder of your choice
Solid image stamp set
Versamark
Heating gun
Piece of cardstock

On piece of paper bigger than the image I covered area with versamark then poured Copper EP and heated till just changed, then patted my versamark pad over that again (won't stick to EP if that's what you're wondering), repeated the first step total of 4 times. By the end I had quite a thick 'puddle' of copper EP. Once you heat set that last time as soon as the powder melts take your stamp and quickly place in 'the puddle'. Hold it down for 10 seconds or so and then remove. Voila! For my sample I cut around the Baroque Motif's flower and then used my 1/4 inch circle punch to punch circles around to make the medallion.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask away.

Today is our youngest daughter's birthday party with her friends. Tomorrow is her actual birthday where she's turning '4!'!!!!! I can't believe how quickly the time flies!

Its also the last day of school today so our older 2 girls are sooo excited.

I hope you all have a wonderful day,

3 in a Row Tin

Good Morning!
I had some fun last night playing with the new set that comes in a tin. Made a few other cards but want to save those for my upcoming New Catalog Kick Off! I thought this card was a good way of showcasing some of the new In Colours that are available July 1st.
On this card I used Purely Pomegranite, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava and lastly River Rock so it coordinated with the River Rock cardstock.
I've heard that there will be NO organdy ribbon, pearl ex, copper embossing powder or cord in the upcoming catalog so if you want any of these items please let me know and I'll add it onto my next order going out.
We're doing the birthday party thing today in our home so better get going and get the present wrapped so my daughter can stamp it.
Have a great weekend,

ballerina baby

Happy Monday!
Just wanted to share a few pic's of our ballerina that were taken this past weekend. This is Kylie's first year of ballet and she enjoyed it soooo much! Getting their costumes was definately a highlight of the whole year. Thank you Janet for making such CUTE costumes and using pink as well. You can't tell but there are little swavarski crystals on the tutu and pink poof's as well....very girly I must say!
I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day. We went for a visit to our long time previous church and had a wonderful visit, felt like coming home. The worship music was amazing, the sermon right on target (and what we needed to hear, focusing on the importance of Father's) and great to visit with long time friends. Also neat to see some teenagers baptized that I've watched grow up! Glad we could make it yesterday.
I have club tonight and one more after that this weekend and then I can share what the projects were. I like the gals to have some suprise so won't share before hand.
I'll post a card I made with Garden Silouette's Soon (an upcoming Level 2 hostess set).

Soft Sky vs Cool Carribean

Happy Friday!
Here's a comparison chart on these 2 colours as I've had alot of customers comment on how Soft Sky looks the same as Cool Carribean. (it does look that way in the preview brochure IMO) BUT here you can obviously see the huge difference! Hope this helps clarify!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! We're busy with ballet recitals tonight and tomorrow night.

playing with my new fav set!

Hello!

Well last night after the kiddies were in bed my good friend Rosella came over and we stamped! To get our juices going we cased this card that debbiedesigns created. Its stamped on shimmery white c/s and is so beautiful in real life!

After this card we wanted to try the tiling look that is the challenge this week on SCS so we created our 2nd card. Used the Poppin' Pastels technique for a softer look. Love the new designer paper that coordinated with the Baroque Motifs stamp set!

Enjoy,

Have a great day!

Swollen Fraser

Here's a few of the pic's I took yesterday. In the middle of the photo under the bridge there are usually campsites there and a picnic area. You can see the row of tree's that usually goes along the river bank. Pretty amazing to see! (if you click on the photo you can get a much better view)

Three in a Row

Good Morning!

Well here's another quick card I made the other night when I was playing with my new goodies!

The white c/s is on dimensionals to give the raised look. I LOVE this tin set and so glad I have it!

I'll upload some pic's I took after school yesterday of the swollen river near where I live. (well 15min away). Thankfully it looks like for the time being we've avoided a big flood as the weather cooperated but the news says there's still like 80% of the snow that has to come down from the mountains so June will be touch and go until that snow gets down.....all depends on the weather!

Have a great day,

Stampin' with new Rubbah

Hi there!

I'm so happy that my new goodies have arrived! Here's a pic of what I rec'd from the Preview Brochure....

Rhinestone brads, new designer paper, chipboard, the new TIN with punch, ink and stamps, new in colours paper and ink pads (not pictured)....not to mention new rubbah!!!

I was able to sit and stamp last night which was great too! In just 2 hours I was able to create 5 cards - 3 3x3 cards and 2 standard cards......some i'll share on here and one or two I want to keep for my upcoming New Catalog Kick Off party which is July 12th - mark your calenders and let me know if you can come!
The card here is using the new Pick a Petal stamp set! I love the colour combo of Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery and Almost Amythyst! I used the Sweet Shop ribbon to base my colours on.

Hoping to get some more stamping done tonight!

Father's Day gift

Good Morning!
Here is one of the projects we made at my May Clubs. It is a photo album using the SU clear envelopes! I saw this idea on the cruise and LOVED it! Its such a versatile idea as you could do this idea for Christmas cards, child's friends, teacher gift etc.....
I used the office hardware to hold it together but the sample on the cruise used ribbon which made it more feminine looking. Because this was for a man I chose to use the hardware, plus some Notations designer paper and the soon to be retired Artifacts stamp set to name a few.
Don't forget that if you live in the Fraser Valley you're welcome to come to my New Catalog kick off party on July 12th in the evening! For more information please see my website which also has my classes at www.ehmazingstampers.stampinup.net . Let me know and I'll give you some directions and details. The event is FREE and I'd love to meet you! ckschwen@shaw.ca
Have a super weekend everyone!

punch storage

Hello there!

While blog surfing I came accross this great idea to store punches! sararedman bought some cheap curtain rods, spraypainted them black and attached them to her wall!!!! I love this idea and i'm inspired to run to Walmart to buy some! What do you think?

I love storage ideas as I'm constantly trying to improve my stamp room and make it more organized!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! We bought some blueberry bushes at the local Flea Market today so will have to get those planted soon....(ran out of time today)
