bday craft

Hi there...
These adorable books are the craft that the girls at Mikayla's 12th bday party made earlier in the month. I found the awesome link at Becky Higgins website for About Me journals. She has one for adults and one for teens....Anyway even though I loved the idea I wasn't sure about how to put the pages together....didn't want to pay to have them bound. Sooooo I was SUPER excited to find these binders at Staples that were the perfect size! Plus they had the area in the front to put a piece of paper of course the girls had to personalize them! With all my Saleabration orders in Jan/Feb i've been ordering the Ice Cream parlour paper pack. That way each girl had their own sheet of 12x12 cardstock stickers and coordinating paper to match! I used my clear block and clear mount alphabet set for them to stamp their names. It came together very quickly (1 hr at the party) and they took the extras home and they could do the writing at home too. I believe its 27 pgs total. Each pg of my sample book (Kylie's) has some type of sticker on it too so the 1 pg was plenty!
Hope you liked this idea,

last Make n' Take

Well, here is the last project made at the Vancouver Regionals that I attended at the end of February. SU really outdid themselves this time around as the projects were beautiful and we got to use many accessories. Its always fun to see them in real life before buying....
I LOVE the seam binding that is found on pg 16 as its so light and easy to work with. Also good if mailing as it doesn't weight down your card.

I'll be posting some card fronts swaps that my fellow team members rec'd at Regionals next.

simple and elegant

Here is another make n take from the Regionals I went to.
We each received the set - Nature Walk which can be found on pg 27 of the Occasions Mini catalog. I love the idea of taking a SU marker and colouring the white rosettes (pg 16). Its always a nice touch to stamp an envelope to match as well...don't you agree?

Sorry for not posting earlier but we had a power outage monday morning and our desktop fried :( Anyway....after a few days at the computer dr, a new power supply added we are all good to go!

Here is one of the make n take's we made at the Vancouver Regionals last Saturday!!!! The projects were really over the top so we stamped as much as we could given the timeframe there, and brought the rest home to finish. I was proud of myself as for once I set aside time the day after Regionals and completed ALL the make n takes...before I put the supplies away! Anyway this was one of my uses lots of neat accessories. Hard to make out but there is dazzling diamonds around each of the circles with the letter on it. Can you see all the neat accessories on the close ups?????? Posting more this week so stay tuned!!!

White Crayon resist

hello again, thanks for dropping by.
Y'know when you see a card on a stampers blog and you just are in awe, and you instantly fall in love...well I had that happen when I saw this card. You can find the original on stampinfunwithselene's blog! I love the colours Wild Wasabi and Baja Blue together. I purchased the Baja Blue seam binding for this card (and clubs) and its so lightweight and easy to use. We also use the Easter Blossom stamp set, and the Springtime Vintage designer paper.
This card showcases the White Crayon resist technique. An oldie, but a goodie in my opinion. So easy, and so elegant.
Hope you like it!

Build a Blossom

Well yesterday I had one of the best days I've had in a long time. Stampin' Up! came to Vancouver!! was Regionals. The last time they came here was 4 years ago! So I was in dire need of a creative tune up :)

Anyway I"ll be sharing the make n' take projects we made in the upcoming days but I thought I"d share what the gals in my clubs made in February.

There was quite a bit of interest in the Build a Blossom stamp set (pg 12 of the Occasions Mini) and the matching punch when we all saw it at first. I thought this would be a great stamp set to show since the punch didn't line up with the set, like in some sets SU has come out with before. Soooo I found a card idea I liked and went with it! I love the shimmer paint mixed in with rubbing alchohol. I truly believe ANY card would probably benefit from a spritz of that stuff!!! Can't go wrong with glitter :) Colours were Rose Red and Pear Pizazz for paper. Ink was Rose Red and Always Artichoke. We used the Springtime Vintage designer paper (pg 15 of the Occasion Mini) as well on both cards this month! LOVE LOVE LOVE that paper! Adornments are the embellishment which are found on pg 15 as well. Hope you like it!

p.s. one thing I recommend when positioning your petals is to punch out a circle and adhere snail to it and then place them on that. Worked well at our clubs!

A Day at the Zoo

What a gorgeous weekend we had here in the FraserValley. Living on the West Coast we are just used to the rain that settles over here for the majority of the winter. BUT one good thing about that is that when there is a sunny day it is so extra special, and we're just dying to get out! My kids had a Pro-D day on friday and the older girls were at friends so we took the youngest 2 to the zoo. It was so odd to just have 2 kids with us! It was an amazing time, and neat to see just the 2 interact with eachother.

cute cupcakes

My 2 oldest daughters go to a local Christian girls club, called GEMS. I just had to share the adorable cupcakes she made there a few weeks ago. Polar Bears and Walrus's. Once you took the candy off they were very yummy!
Great party idea, don't you think?
Have a great day!

Crazy for Owls

Here is the 2nd card the club ladies made in January. I love the Owl punch and finally purchased it over the holidays. Merry Christmas to me :) Anyway as I was blog surfing, I came accross the great sample on
Again we used the Valentine Defined stamp set from the Occasions Mini. Used the new glimmer paper on pg 7 (love how it doesn't come off in your hands like most glitter pages do!). Lastly another new product I showcased was the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder called Framed Tulips - found on pg 28. Loooove it!
Anyway thanks for dropping by, I love to hear from you :)

Valentine tri-fold

Hello! Thanks for stopping by!
Here is one of the projects my club ladies made in January. I got the idea from if you want to see her awesome work! I love this new set from the Occasions Mini called 'Valentine Defined' pg 9. The base of the card is a 12x12 pc of whisper white cut in half then you trim around 2" from one end so its on an angle. You attach the hearts on the angle.
Have you made your Valentine a card yet?
Another Valentine card is coming, stay tuned!

Addy's 1

Hope you're having a great weekend!
I took the kiddies to a Science Celebration today at our local University. Lots of experiments, make n takes and a great science show to watch!
This evening I make this bday card for my niece that is turning one this week. Her family just arrived from Australia today so they are having a party for Addy tomorrow afternoon. I am looking forward to meeting her and her sister tomorrow for the first time! Australia is a very long way from here so our visits are far between!
Its hard to make out but there are dazzling diamonds on the icing as well.
Club projects are being posted soon...stay tuned!
