angels

Hi,
I borrowed the Holy Triptych set from my friend Lynn thinking I would use it at my November Holiday Card class. I knew I wanted to showcase embossing as I had only used the white EP in this series of classes....I wanted to use the gold or silver as its a real 'Wow' at this time of year. Anyway here is what I came up with. The dress and hair of the angel is coloured in with Watercolour pencil crayons and blender pen. 2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds are on the wings. Well...sometimes things don't go as planned and I noticed earlier today that my Night of Navy cardstock is on Backorder....and I need it by this coming thursday and it hasn't even shipped yet. Normally this wouldn't be a problem when I"m creating for a club or workshop but with the numbers of cards I have to cut (90 for this card alone) I needed those 2 packages!!!! Soooo I spent this evening coming up with another card completely using the cardstock I knew I have enough of....I quite like the card and will post it here once the classes are finished. (Nov 12th and Nov 17th) I used Serene Snowflakes instead and embossed in Gold, plus Champagne Shimmer paint to just give you a hint :)
Anyway lots of ramblings today....
Hope you're having a great week so far,
Kerry

2nd card from September class

Hi again,
As promised here is the 2nd card that my customers made at my Holiday Card Class in September. They made of these cards as well....Hard to make out in the picture but we ran the chocolate chip matt thru with Petals-a-Plenty Embossing folder and then sponge daubed Champagne Mist shimmer paint over the raised images....so pretty in real life with the sparkle! The designer paper strip is from the Holiday Mini as well as is called Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP. The white part of the swirl is flocked. (pg 21 in the mini).
Thanks for dropping by! I appreciate all comments.

sept holiday card class

Hello,

Ooops, Thanks to Wanda for pointing out that I hadn't shared my September holiday card class cards yet....I overlooked it!

Here is one of the cards the ladies made 5 of. I loved the idea of running fun foam thru the big shot so I did that, then we painted the snowflakes with White Shimmer paint. (found in the Holiday Mini) Finished off with a clear rhinestone brad in the middle. The blue colour is the new in colour - Bermuda Bay. I'll share the other card tomorrow!

Sweet Centres - brilliant trap door!

OK peeps...thanks for dropping by!

Here is the last project the ladies at my 3 clubs made in October....using the awesome Sweet Centres stamp set! One of the problems though is that its hard not to ruin your card when you want to get to what's you've put in the cup!!! WELL I came accross GREAT directions for making a trap door! First pic shows the finished card, and then the 2nd picture shows the trap door coming out.....brilliant I say!
Here are the directions:

Halloween Sweet Treat 3x 3 card
-olive base 3 x 6 (fold in half)
-slider door pumpkin 2 x 2 5/8
-stamp sweet treats stamp in black on whisper white c/s and cut out. Punch centre with 1 ¾ circle punch.
-4 mini glue dots to rim of treat cup (not sticky side) DO NOT ATTACH!!! Keep peel on!
-mini glue dot all 4 corners (white c/s side)
-lay slider door on top to see that the mini glue dots are not in the way of the movement of the door, but do not attach.
-lay main image on top of the card front and trace, circle, then punch out with 1 ¾ circle punch.
-Put layers together and you’re done!

Have fun making these and be sure to put a comment in my blog if you post a picture of your finished project on your blog! I'd love to take a peek!

Club project #2

Hi there,
When I saw this tutorial on Patty Bennett's blog I just knew I had to try it! I didn't have access to the wooden frames though so I made my own using cardboard. (2 sheets glued together for a better thickness).....
I just loved the shimmer paint - I used the Champagne Mist on this card.....Colours used are Dusty Durango and Soft Suede. The club members could choose which definition they wanted for their own card....

Mini Pumpkin basket

Hi there,
Here is one of the projects made at my October club. (we made 3 which i'll be sharing)....
Here are the directions....the box with handle is so cute and can be used for so many different holidays...can you see Easter Eggs? Hearts? etc....

Pumpkin basket (as found on Inkin’ Idaho’s blog)
1. Cut cardstock to 2-1/4" x 5-3/4".
2. Score along the bottom at 1".
3. Score the length at 1-3/4", 2-3/4", 4-1/2" and 5-1/2"
4. Cut on the score lines up to the intersecting score line at a slight angle (to avoid any overlap and it 's cleaner look). Cut off the little piece at the end as shown in the photo.
5. Punch 5 ovals with the Wide Oval Punch, sponge the edges for added depth. I used Pumpkin Pie cardstock and ink.
6. Handle is 6" x 1/2".
